Anyone here of the USS OLYMPIA the flagship that carried Dewey into Manilla Bay and devasted the Spanish Navy? I learned a couple of days ago she is still afloat and locaated at the Independance Maritime Museum nera Philly on the Delaware River is in serious need of repair. I have sent eamils to several organizations asking for any of the wood removed so I could create some pens for them to sell or Auction off to raise funds for this glorious ship. If I can get some wood would anyone here be interested in helping? It may be too little too late but it may help.
It is going to take about 10 million to keep her afloat but they would like to sell the ownership to a responsible party for 30 million which includes repairs and moving her wish I had that much to spare.

Seen the same show. They said she should have been dry docked every 10 years and is now on something like her 40th or 50th year without dry dock service. They also have to dredge for 5 million just to get her away from the pier.
Steel ship with very little wood and poor servicing. Good like finding any wood.
