Anyone ever cast stabilized wood in polyester resin (sil 41)? Curious if it can be done. If you have an you have any sample pics I'd love to see them. If you've tried and it was an epic failure please give me your experience.

I'm talking about plain PR, colored with powder, in a PVC tube. Simple stuff?

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to hearing your experience.

I've never tried it, but I've read that Silmar 41 is no good for hybrid or worthless wood casting due to it shrinking a little during the curing process. I'm pretty sure everybody who casts wood in resin blanks uses Alumilite, that's all I've ever seen used.
