I was in Woodcraft today and they had a 15% off bag sale. Picked up a pack of Mixol tints. After getting home, I did a search and see that maybe it was a bad decision.

I liked the basic color selection as compared to USComposits. There blue is keel blue or indigo blue, yellow is maize yellow, green is emerald green.
So, guess wondering if I made the right decision or should I go with USComposits colors.

Right now, all I am wanting are the basic colors and maybe later branch out to the different ones like on Coastal Scents.

Any suggestions?

ive had good luck so far.

I've used Mixol for years - gives great color when you don't want the little specs or pearls from solid pigments. It does slow down the cure of PR quite a bit, but a little heat in a 120-150F oven for a few hours takes care of that.

I use "just a little" Mixol so I don't need so much powder. It helps to make it a little more opaque. It's the same theory as spray painting metallic colors, you always spray a base coat first.
