I've gotten the bug to try my hand at casting with PR. I would like to try colors and also the clear resin so I can embed objects in it. I've read where a lot people have success with no pressure pot or vacuum chamber, and i've read where the use of a pressure pot is almost a necessity. I'm going to throw out a question about using a vacuum chamber. I've read about it's use, but what are the benefits of using it? I ask this because at work I have a large vacuum chamber that I use for CA fuming- and it occurred to me that I might be able to use that for my PR instead of buying a pressure pot.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks
Ed

Pressure for casting, vacuum for stabilizing.

If you go on YouTube, and go to Grub32's channel, you will see that he has his PR set up while vibrating on his drill press table. Some folks use the high frequency dental cleaners, while others use the pressure pot from Harbor Freight.

My first PR blanks I did the Grub32 method, and they came out alright, but not professional like I get now using a pressure pot.
