Not trying to start a flame thread of any sort. One of my guys (I am a pastor and I have 3 deployed from my church and 2 more connected to my church) in Iraq has the shingles. Now this is painful here where we can get medical attention and A/C. I have to believe it is worse there. Please pray for him.
Thanks in advance!

Shingles

When Shingles hit me my Doc said dont worry it will only last 24 hrs there is a special immediate treatment but not to worry, well two and a half months later it subsided. Started on the back covered the left side of my face went around the left eye thankfully then all over the head. The purple welting set out about a half inch so every pore felt like a red hot needle. So this guy has my sympathy and prayers from one who knows.
Peter.

My prayers go out to him and anyone else who have shingles.
I have had shingles, and they were the most painful experience I have ever had. I was told that I had a mild case, because it only lasted 9 weeks. Shingles messes up the transmission of nerve signals, such that everything is translated into pain. Heat is pain, cold is pain, touch is pain, clothes brushing the skin is pain, etc. If you are eligible for the vaccine, I would highly recommend getting it.

Ill send up prayers as well...some of us take for granted the luxury of getting sick at home...I can only imagine in a 3rd world country!!
