Sounds like your picture is too BIG, bring it in your photo program and try to either resize it or crop and resize it.

When you take the photo, set your camera to the lowest resolution. It will keep your file size smaller.

And throw away most of the detail. This is a very bad suggestion. Always shoot to obtain the highest resolution JPG file your camera will produce.

There is a 500Mb file size limitation and the file must be a .JPG. You haven't provided enough information to determine what exactly the problem is. Any response about the cause of you problem is strictly a guess. Make sure the file is less than 500Mb and is a .JPG file. If you don't know how to get the image to meet those two requirements ask and you'll get help, but we will need to know what camera you are using and what editing software you use.

Tnks for the replies...Know I sound totally illiterate, but when you're 70, things don't sink in quite as fast...I'm using a Kodak Easy Share, CX7530...I had the resolution set on highest...and the pics I'm trying to upload (from Picasa) are 2560 X 1706 Pixels. Maybe too large? Again, tnks for the replies...I'm sure that somewhere here lies my problem, and my solution. BW

In your easyshare program, bring up the photo you want to post and then 'Save as' a web based photo. It should make the photo a much smaller 'file' size and keep it as close to viewing size as possible. have you tried that?

I'm not sure if there is still an open question here. If you import your photos to photobucket (or something similar), there is an icon at the top of the page that you can click to resize the photo to the correct file size for the forum. It's just one click. You can also enhance and sharpen the image on photobucket very easily. Save the enhanced, resized image to your hard drive, then import it from your hard drive to IAP. There's probably an easier way, but that's how I've done it.

Edit to add: Picasa works the same way.

Just for clarification, are you having problems getting the photo onto Picasa, or having problems getting the photo in your user album here at IAP?

Just uploaded my first photo to "Member Photos". Caption: "Antique Longleaf Blanks." Honestly, not quite sure yet how I did it, but will go back and review procedure and try again. I'm sure it was a combination of using some snippet of everything each of you sent and for that, thanks again...(will have more questions yet, I'm sure.) BW

Don't get fustrated with it, fiddle with it a little at the time. There is always someone here willing to answer help questions just fire when ready. I saw your blanks and while the picture isn't real large, it was crystal clear and that's all that counts. Hope to see more in the next few day! Take Care!
