I got an email from a member this week (reminding me I have not posted in a bit) asking how we were doing.
We had our first follow up at MD Anderson a couple weeks ago. Everything went great, she does have some precancerous cells they want to watch. It was just a quick trip down and back, our next follow up will be a couple days of testing and appointments. Mannie again it was great to see you, thanks for coming up to the 10th floor.
Kelly is doing great. Her speech is coming along very well, it is only hard to understand when she is tired. No problems with foods of any kind, the doctors said she would find it difficult to eat certain foods with the missing section of her tongue. Examples would be ground beef or rice. Her one complaint is her shoulder. When they removed the lymph nodes there they pulled the muscle and cut them off vs. making another long incision. She is doing therapy now to get the muscles working again.
As for me I am just working overtime to keep paying the bills, keeping track of a very energetic 2 1/2 yr old and trying to stay healthy. I had a run in with that stomach virus that lasted 3 weeks. I have not made a pen still since this all started, just the one bottle stopper from sandstone. One day soon I am hoping to get in there and make some again, I just have to clean it all up first.
