The middle of July had marked my one year anniversary of lathe working! What's funny is I bought a lathe to make tobacco pipes.
No pipes have been made.
Here are two custom twists pens. The parts were pilfered from two different kits.
A legacy woodturners silver streamline kit and a "Serafin" slimline kit in chrome.
The blanks were poured with Alumilite Clear Cast which turns very nicely. I use this for single blanks and if I'm going to use multiple mica powders. I had seven colors in these blanks, also adding irregular flakes.
The tubes are glued with two part epoxy.
I did wet sand from 400 to 12000 grit.
CA glue finished. Sanded lightly with 400 grit and Beale System buffed with Tripoli and White Diamond.
