Yes, I know if I were doing this right I wouldn't be watching TV, I'd be out in the shop making pens instead.

But my Wife and I have been enjoying watching TV together lately. Unfortunately we are rapidly running out of TV shows we want to watch. We are nearing the end of season six of NCIS, and when we finally catch up to the current episode in a couple of weeks, we will need something else to watch. So I am asking for suggestions.

What we like in a TV show is good character interaction, and of course good writing. NCIS is a good example of this. We also enjoyed Star Trek Enterprise (particularly the third season!). We enjoyed Eureka! And we are currently enjoying Castle. We're not stuck on a particular genre. What other TV shows can you suggest? I won't be too specific, but it doesn't have to be a current TV show.

Warehouse 13 was OK, as is Eastwick, which means we'll watch them but they're nothing special. FlashForward and NCIS Los Angeles are just not sparking a connection. Stargate Universe is interesting, but the formula is going to get real stale real soon. We tried Dr. Who, but my Wife didn't take to it. The older Star Trek series now seem a little dated so we haven't caught on to them. We might try Battlestar Galactica - we never watched any of that, but I heard it was good!

I would be happy for any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Scott.

Eh, Battlestar Galactica started out incredibly well. But the last two seasons were just "ok".

If you're looking for old shows on DVD or blu-ray, I'd reccomend Pushing Daisies... One of my favorites.

Castle and NCIS are both great.
if you like castle you will absolutely love Firefly. same main character, and one of the best shows in existence in my opinion.
Monk is also a good one, as is Its Always Sunny in Philidalphia:biggrin:

House and 24. 24 is the only show I have to watch on the day it airs. All other shows are DVR'd.
We watch the NCISes and CSI (Los Vegas) only because of Morpheus er um Laurence Fishburne

Star Wars

Did you say STAR TREK. As you can see by my avitar I'm a big fan. I found this site on the net and have been in hog heaven ever since.

You can search for old shows or current shows and play them off the net.

For new shows LOML and daughters have now got me hooked on House, Greys Anatomy, and Ugly Betty.

All great entertainment, (but still like STtng)
I know Star Trek and Star Wars are two different animals but my son just developed the first Star Wars game that can be downloaded to a iphone. Just released by Lucas Arts this week. Hope I have my facts straight. Anyway I know you are the pilot in the Trench Run with TIE fighters chasing you.

I like you have enjoyed Castle, have you tried The Mentalist, has good character interaction and writing. Also waiting for 24 to start again.

Wow! All good suggestions! I hadn't thought of Bones - we might try that. My Wife has enjoyed the few episodes we have watched.

Now I might have to watch Firefly! House is good, and I love his character, but the plot seems to be the same all the time. That Sunny in Philadelphia show looks interesting! I had not even heard of it before. We've already seen almost all of Monk, but we stopped following CSI after about the third season. Knowing that Fishburne is on there might be worth a look!

Please, keep the suggestions coming!

Lost is a must....but if you watch is start at the beginning. Hulu has all the episodes with the exception of last season. True Blood is another good one to watch and only 2 seasons to catch up on. Any of the Law and orders are good.
I've got a TV in the shop for background noise as I turn and I'll take a movie out there from time to time....but usually have either Law and Order or NCIS reruns on USA network

Can not remember the name right now.....watched the pilot a couple of nights ago......con-man working with the FBI. He conned himself out of prison the FBI agent that arrested him 4 years before got him again. The con man volunteered to help catch the 'Ghost'.

Watched the whole show......quite good actually!!!

Just drawing a blank on the name......

Someone here might know......

Later....

Almost forgot "Rescue Me" Dennis Leary is great in it only drawback might be its R rateing. But It's great acting.

Scott,
I would recommend getting into Torchwood. This is a spin off of the new Dr. Who series with a character Captian Jack Harkness. It is a great program and has completed three series. If you are into mysteries - Inspector Linley and Wallander series is the way to go. All three can be found on Netflicks. ENJOY!

Firefly is amazing! THat's the reason we watch Castle - for Mal Renolds! :)

The Closer with Kyra Sedgewick is a good program. There is another show about a woman who hides witnesses and protects them. It is on I think TBS, not quite sure.
Bones, and I also watch Stargate and Stargate Atlantis reruns.

A question about that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, was it half-hour shows?

Wonderfalls looks interesting - I think we might try that. I like Kyra Sedgewick so we will have to try The Closer as well. Thanks everybody! When I get a suggestion, I look them up on thetvdb.com and sometimes on Wikipedia.

The Mentalist is very good.

Doctor Who is supposed to regenerate at the end of the new, extra length, episode- Waters of Mars, in November. That is unless they air it for Halloween. A new Doctor/actor has been announced.

Mercy is cool so far.
House is cool.
lie to me is pretty good.
Dave Chappell show if you like comedy and R rated material. Season 2 is hillarious! The stuff betwen Rick James and Eddie Murphy's brother Charlie. Classic.

yes sunny is 30 min. episodes

Thanks! I noticed the files were about half the size of a regular hour show, and I didn't know if they were half-hour, or if somebody was compressing the files a little too much! This makes me feel better!

I am going to have to try the mentalist. This is fun! I'm enjoying seeing what everybody recommends!

Scott.

Another vote for The Closer. Kyra Sedgewick is very good. My wife just loves her character. Flawed, quirky and very good at what she does.

White Collar. New show on USA. I've only seen the first one, but really liked it.

WE has a show on called "The Locater". It's a guy that finds people. Sisters that were split up when put into foster care and want to find each other 25 years later, etc.
