Im having trouble recently triming and sanding a blank to even out with a bushing. Once it looks smooth and even..I apply the blank with the pen kit then oh my! The blank is either to high or to low. Any suggestions?
sounds interesting, can you share a photo?I had the same problem in the past. I just now just turn them a bit bigger than bushings. Also, its good to use non-metalic bushings for sanding, to prevent metal dust gettin into the wood pores. I made a "card sander" which is simply a card size cut of paper box with 400 grit sandpaper glued on both sides, and I use it to make a small filet on both ends of finished pieces. It may sound funny, but that filet makes wonders, give it a try![]()
