I've received several PMs from people who were disappointed that I didn't pull the names for the group buy that I am running from the original listing that Onur posted.

I apologize for doing it the way I did, but given the short time frame that I feel that I have, I needed a fresh list of people who:

1) Had the funds available immediately. The process for this buy is more complicated than normal. I have to collect the funds, convert it from Paypal to my Bank account then sent the funds to Turkey via Western Union/ Moneygram. He has already run out of stock once since posting the initial listing, SO I didn't want to waste time.

2) That I could be sure were still interested given that the initial posting was more than a week ago. Things change, it's happened with me as well as others in the past. Again, I didn't feel like I had the time to waste by PMing people on the original list and waiting for replies. (I've seen some of Nolan's listings take a week or more to get through the wait list, and that's fine when its a one shot deal or when the time for that is available)

3) That understood that there are risks on this buy as we don't know the vendor very well, and that everyone accepts those risks. If everything works out in terms of reliability and quality either I (or someone else) will run another, or they could show up in the inventory of one of our regular vendors since the minimum order is rather large.

Given all that, I only got word on 200 blanks for this order. Given the number of people on the first post and numbers wanted, there is no way I could have gotten very far. Even limiting it to 5 blanks and ending it at the time I did, it was nearly full 37 participants out of a possible 40.

Again, apologies to those who were left out on this go round, but if this works out there will be more opportunities. And we should know in about 2 weeks if everything goes well.

You jumped in and got it done. That is good. I'm anxious to see how it works and even more anxious to see some pens made from the wood. I missed this go around but not upset by it. I'll jump in next time or, if it work good I can always order on my own.
