Tung Oil Finish

I've just made a small display box for my higher end pens. Made from Swamp Ash and Walnut. I put a tung oil finish on it but now I'm wondering if it needs more protection from handling.
Can I put a clear poly finish over top of the tung oil? Or any other protective finish?
