TUL Mechanical pencil

Has anybody have any experience with the TUL mechanical pencil? I believe it is an Office Max internal brand.

I have been asked if I can modify one by turning a replacement barrel for it. If anyone has taken one apart, or tried to modify one, any experience at all would be helpful.
