Stay safe there. I am quite interested in this science and am very interested to see the forecasted predictions to the actual on arrival. So much money is invested in this. Let's just hope its money well spent.

OK, I'm gonna sound stupid, but that is the ONLY way I know to learn:

Don't they usually surf on six foot waves??? Isn't that a common height in Hawaii?? Did they MEAN to say 16??

You made room for your wife----??????---

Be safe and we wish you folks the best of luck

The type of Tsunami wave is more a surge instead a good wave that you can surf...
The High school which is where I'm at is a shelter is about 60ft high and about 1mile from the ocean.

I was living in Waikiki during the 1960 tsunami, it destroyed half of Hilo on the big island and was hardly noticeable on Oahu. They are strange and scary things.

Yes they do have 6 foot waves but they are usually only 20 feet deep or so. this would be more like a 6 foot wave that stretches as much as 100 or 200 feet back. it comes in and in and in and in.

We "dodge" the bullet... All safe ... Accordding to the Pacific Tsunami center the ocean surge got to about 2 ft high instead of the 6ft ...

Thank you for all your thoughts...

Our turn now....Police just came by and insisted we evacuate. We are ummm....20 ft from the waters edge. 3m forecast and we are at the 4 meter mark at high tide so we should be ok. ...but still..
