Trying to identify....

Good morning and Happy Sunday!

I'm trying to identify the tree! I found these hard curly things on the branches and thought it would look good in a blank and turned....

I will attempt to turn it this evening when I'm off duty.

Can anyone help me out with the name of the tree or the curly thingy's?
