Decided to try bowl turning for a change. Seems to be pretty fun.

They look good. That's a really nice piece of olive and I like the interesting shape. That one isn't going to tip over for sure.
How big are they? I've got a few blanks cut, but so far have only done a couple small ones, 3-4ish inches.
 
Olivewood blank was 6x6x2; I think the other was 4x4x3. I've been getting my blanks from Rockler. I know it would be cheaper {and get bigger blanks} but right now I don't have the time to process chunks of tree. In fact there are several chunks of willow oak slowly cracking in the garage ...

Very good turnings. I have found some bargains at my local Woodcraft store; odds & ends per pound. Check with a local tree service. Some woodturners have them call to say what is coming down.
