I had some spare Red Oak and made multiple blanks from it. This is the Trimline kit and I decided to do a natural finish to show the grain patterns. Completed it with a CA finish. Hope you enjoy the grain patterns that are displayed ...

That looks super. If you have anymore of that 1/4 sawn left I'd like to challenge you to turn a cross grain out of it. If you have the right grain the rays will run from end to end. I have some examples if you'd like to see one.
