Made a goblet out of mulberry I got from Sharon (sbwertz) a few months ago well aged so I turned dry wood. Goblet is about 4 1/8 inches tall, holds 2oz and just fits the hand. Tried it out with some B&B and it works great. Finish is food safe microcrystal wax bowl finish from Doctors woodshop. C & C welcome

Neat shape. Looks like it would fit the hand nicely.

I've never turned Mulberry, is it challenging? Looks like it has some small tearout near the base. I had those issues with some Cottonwood I've turned and it can be a real hassle.

I like turning mulberry it is a hard wood but very beautiful. Thanks for the comments that dark spot near the base is a flaw in the wood.

So far, I've only made pens from mulberry. I agree that it turns well. Depending on the cut, you can find some beautiful chatoyance. It's one of my favorites. BTW, fine goblets. Congrats! Russ

That's not a flaw, William, its a FEATURE! Glad you are enjoying the mulberry.

Great job on the goblet William. That Mulberry turned out looking very nice.

I made one from cedar. 1.5" tall and 13/16" diameter. Just sits on my desk.

Keep up the good turnings William.

Good looking goblet... My mulberry is a little brighter yellow, but you did say yours was dry... mine tends to be a little more on the green/wet side.

A couple of bowls I did from local Mulberry...

Does it keep its yellow color over time? Mine tends to turn a dark gold after a while.

I don't know yet... these were turned in the last couple of months and so far haven't darkened yet... time will tell.
