I am on the road again and this time we (me plus my family, 6 adults and 20 teens) are headed to Arizona to work in a church in Phoenix. We will be staying in Cottonwood for a few days for a little group time (Sedona, Grand Canyon, Slide Rock,...) and then will be hitting it hard in Phoenix for 9 days. I've heard it's hot but it is OK because it's a dry heat:) A 400 degree oven may be dry but it's still hot!! Enough chatter.

Here's the real question. While in the Phoenix area are there any great places (for turning of course) that I should try to visit. Stores, Wood suppliers, Craft stores, wood crafters,... you know what I mean. I can't imagine being in that area and not seeing some of what Phoenix has to offer in the area of wood working

Replys are greatly requested!!

Anthony is in Cave Creek . You MUST visit his shop . A very nice and receptive gentleman , with LOTS of nice turnings . Say HELLO to him for me . While you are in Phoenix , you should dine at the Rustlers Roost . It has an amazing view of the city lights . Enjoy your trip !

Paul Porter lives here as well. You can contact him on his website and Anthony up in Cave Creek and I agree a very nice man and great turnings in his shop and office.

And as I remember, Cave Creek is just north of Phoenix.. almost a suburb.

Holy heat waive, 3 posts in a row!

Couple of places come to mind Rocklers, this can be a hit or miss, sometimes they have stuff, they ussually have nice 2x or 3x black palm on the cheap.

Wood Workers Source, right off I-17 and North of Bell Rd, nice big new store, go in the back to rummage through their stock, better finds.

I have not been to WoodCraft, I think it is in Mesa.

If those places don't work, you can stop by my place and I can give you the nickle tour. I am about 30 minutes north of Scottsdale.

PS. please leave the 20 teens and 5 adults
