Tough Stuff

I tried this weekend to slab some Desert Ironwood with my bandsaw. Let me tell you I wish I had a carbide blade instead of this 1/2" one. My poor bandsaw was begging for mercy after 4 pieces 3/4 in thick and from 6" to 2" wide. I thought I even heard some bad words coming from it but then realized it was me muttering under my breath lol. Going to try again over the next couple of days already sold these to a very nice member. I need to get a good straightedge I know and then just slow down as this will be an affair to remember.

Is it possible to get larger pieces of Desert Ironwood? I'd love to make a lidded box out of D.I.

You can but I don't have the equipment to cut some of my larger pieces like you asked about. I have a 6inch resaw on my bandsaw as I have no riser. Wish I could but not at the moment.
