I can't remember the name of the German knock off I have.....
I bought a set of Tormek woodturning jigs but I can't figure out how to attach the leather finger grind profile things.

Anyone figured out how to do it?

Thanks,

They mount on the end of the bolt that is holding the leather wheel that is used to 'strop' the edge. That is assuming yours has a leather wheel...

Be sure to keep the leather well oiled and ONLY use mineral oil otherwise the glue can be attacked and it will fall apart on ya!
IF your sharpener is a "wet" one, NEVER use anything but water to keep the stone wet.

Fred, the bolts on the leather strop side are too small. it's the bolts on the wet wheel side that are the right fit....but It didn't seem to me to be a good idea to have the fingernail strops near the water on that side.

As for the strop, I have been concerned about it. I watched the video that came with the tormek parts and that's what I follow. However, between turnings the strop dries out. Should I load it with the oil that came with it and keep it oily all the time? Would I do the same with the fingernail strops?

thanks.
