Tool Gloat and Question

I bought these at an estate sale this morning. The Stanley No.5 Plane is in near mint conditions, just a mild cleaning required.

The three handled tools on the right are vintage Craftsman. The 2" gouge is stamped "Spear Johnson" (I think).

The nail puller was in a discard box, because they did not know what it was. It is in perfect conditions for a 90 year old tool.;)

Many of these will stay in my collection.[8D] Some will find their way to sales or eBay.:D Others will be scrap metal.[B)]

This little gadget was in the box. Can anyone tell me what it is and how it is used? The hole on the opposing side of the screw is not threaded.

BTW: Yes, the router table and fense are home made. [^]

I can see where the pin broke flush with the cut edge of the screw.
