It has been running 110 and higher here in phoenix. My garage is so hot, everytime I go out into it thinking about turning a pen I run back inside. Made me think of a question. My lathe is hot to the touch as are all the metal attachments, etc. Not so hot that they will burn you but pretty hot. does subjecting your tools and materials to so much heat cause problems? Should I store pen kits and such in the house when it gets this hot or is it a non issue.

If I had kits with rollerball or ballpoint refills, I think I would bring them in from the heat.

I have a small refrigerator on my workbench where I keep lots of things like CA, accelerator, epoxy, waxes, etc.

that's a good idea, never thought of that. I have a little frig upstairs that isn't being used for anything.

Don't leave your PR and CA in that heat . The PR uses heat to cure and you will have a block of resin very quickly in that heat .
CA also hardens in the heat , I keep my extra bottles of CA in the Fridge till I need them .

I leave all my kits, and glues, in the house. The laundry room is next to the garage, and it has a couple of cabinets there that I use (with her permission of course) to store stuff. We have also been close to 110 this past week. I hate the summer...

Speaking of the heat. Does anyone use one of those portable airconditioners that roll around. I wonder if they work?
