Has anyone tried the titebond version of CA yet? I stopped by the woodcraft store this weekend and thought i would give it a try. I know i could use the paper towel but a small piece of plastic gives me better results when spreading it. The problem i have is that this stuff burns like crazy. I know that it uses heat to cure but i normally use the hot stuff and it's not near this bad. What's your thoughts if you have tried it?

I too picked up a bottle at a hardwood dealer's wood sale. I have not tried it for finishing yet but have for glueing exotics together and looks like it holds as well as any other CA. Look forward to reading from others if they tried it as a finish. It is relatively cheap in price.

I normally use the Blue throw away shop towel and bought at Woodcrafters... I think it was called America USA or something. And it worked great. This Titebond stuff instantly heats up with this towel and the smell is... well... burning and bad.

It is the first CA I have tried with a pre-opened bottle. When checking to see if it was open, I decorated my lathe with little drops of CA (sigh).

I only use thin as a sanding sealer and to fix tear-outs in burls. I like Mannie's brand better.

I did the same thing. I thought it would need to have the tip cut off and for some reason i turned the bottle upside down and had a mess to clean up. I will go with Mannie for sure next time.
