Tiger Maple

Has any one made pens/pendants from Tiger Maple? How is it to turn?? I am going to look at some this afternoon, $5 b/f. What do you think?

It turns great, takes detail well, and finishes beautifully. It's also very receptive to coloring if you are so inclined... I've used food coloring with great success on tiger maple.

The only time I've purchased it was here on IAP, and it's great stuff(BryanJon if I'm not mistaken). I'd say give it a try.

Hi Rick; You can get a lot of pens from a board foot!

I know it by curly maple, maybe this is something else.

Actually most of mine aren't quite that clear, at least the ones I have dug out of my stash at the moment. Figured Maple sure is some pretty stuff especially after a little BLO.
