Three new guest---wood gloat

These three burls arrived this morning--Sassafrass---maple---Beech.
I am going to resaw the maple into pen blanks--it's nice and solid with lots and lots of color and grain. I had to order new bandsaw blades so it's going to be a couple of days before they will be ready.
The Sassafrass is very wet so it's going into storage for a year. The beech is hard----has to be one of the hardest woods grown in this country today. I am going to turn a bowl out of it.

The only bandsaw blades I have are 3/8 finish cut---they burn up fast cutting this.
I order a dozen 3/4 resaw blades this morning. Here's what two slabs look like.
