I just wanted everyone to know the hard work that Ed and Dawn have done this year for the birthday bash!

In addition to contacting all the prize winners and coordinating delivery of all the prizes, Dawn has also contacted each of the winners and made sure that they received their prizes!!

They are STILL working behind the scenes to wrap up the final deliveries of the bash! Everyone involved worked very hard this year, without question, but Ed and Dawn have put in a herculean effort!

On the few instances where issues have developed, Ed and Dawn decided to make it right of their own volition, with their own money!

So let's all give three cheers to Ed and Dawn for a job VERY well done!

(If we say it loud enough, we might convince them to do it again next year!) :)

While I'm at it, I just wanted to thank everyone once more for donating prizes. Those businesses that donated were very generous, and they seemed glad to be a part of our fifth birthday! If you won a prize, I'm sure the company would appreciate a short email or note! :)

So thanks yet again to everyone involved. Hopefully, the bash is FINALLY done, and Dawn will stop sending me emails  (just kidding, Dawn - send away if you have any issues) :)

Hear Hear !! I agree totally with everything you say !!! . However I would also like to add a Special Thank You to you Andrew . Your efforts have gone kinda unnoticed and they should'nt .

The Bash was fun and I would like to give my thanks to everyone for the trivia, the jokes, the laughs, the learning and the community spirit. This is a great site.

Wonderful job all around, guys! I hope, however, that my little issue didn't cost anyone anything out of pocket! I hope that you guys haven't devoted too much time to the site, though, 'cause I may be needing some blanks soon.

Just gotta chime in. Ed and Dawn were great. Thanks guys, people like you make this more than just a message board.

Opportunity Knocks

Thank-you!!!
one and all!!

I would like to take this opportunity to mention that Andrew did this job last year, by himself. He got all the prizes (which he did again this year), then sent all the emails to the "donors" and "recipients" (This is what I did this year) and followed up with the "ooopps, I forgot to deliver on my promise vendors" (which is what Dawn is doing, again with Andrew's help).

The prizes that remain "undelivered" to date are now a MONTH late. Those of you who are the donors of these prizes, CAN we PLEASE complete the transaction???

We are all adults. When you say "Yes, I will donate x,y or z," there should not be a need for Dawn or Andrew to contact you again!!!

Can everyone PLEASE finish!!!

And yes, this was a big job. Much larger than I expected. Next year, there will be a team of us doing this (Spiritwoodturner -Dale- helped with one of the big contests at the end, he is "chomping at the bit" to do it again - well, he said he WOULD do it, that's enthusiastic enough for me!!)

Almost finished -

BTW, there were nearly 150 prizes awarded during the bash!! There are approximately 15 still undelivered. NOT too bad!!! But Dawn and Andrew ARE getting frustrated.

Count me in next year, Ed, and thanks for letting me help! It actually was a lot of fun, once I figured it out. Or once the pain pills wore off, I'm not sure...

Anyway, it gave me an opportunity to meet Ed, and that was worth it. I'll do it again, and more, next year.

Thanks,
Dale

Having organized something like this - on a MUCH SMALLER SCALE, I am most grateful for all the work Ed, Dawn and Andrew have done for this 5th Birthday Bash!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

As I have watched and read after the fact, It looks like everyone had a great time with the bash. Our fearless leader Jeff (who tried to help me) can verify that I had server problems and couldn't get on this site from around Sept. last year to Jan. this year. I helped with last years bash and wanted to help again this year too, so when I finally got back on site I was given the job of designating prizes for contests. Things went along great until our daughter unexpectedly gave birth prematurely Jan. 29th. Dawn and Ed jumped right in and took over my position with prizes. I am EXTREMELY THANKFUL for their time, energy and generosity:good:.

Andrew, THANK YOU again for gathering up all the prizes, that's a feat in itself and you do it so well :worship:

It takes so much time and effort to prepare for the bash every year, THANK YOU to everyone involved. You did a great job :highfive: !

Hopefully, the bash is FINALLY done, and Dawn will stop sending me emails  (just kidding, Dawn - send away if you have any issues) :)
Andrew

Issues? Issues??? Boy, do I have issues!!!! (BTW, have you ever meet Ed???).. Thanks for the offer Andrew!!! I think that I will keep your email on speed dial!

Cheer Cheer Cheer, There's my 3 cheers. Seriously I can't imagine the time it takes to do something like that. If I can help in anyway next year I be glad to. Thanks to everyone involved and those who donated time and items!

Huzzah, huzzah, huzzah!

I heartily thank the Dynamic Duo, despite the fact that I won -nothing- and that Ed invited me to pack my bags and head to Hades ;)

Seriously, Ed, Dawn, and those like them who donate their time are what make this forum what it is: A community.

Cheers!

Gary

Ed, Dawn, Jeff and all y'all know who you are, I raise my glass in a cheer for you (not a Bronx cheer). Absolutely stupendous job and not just 'cause i won a prize. This was a lot of fun and I intend to participate more next year.

Yes, a big thank you to Dawn and Ed, and Andrew too. They did a great job and did go above and beyond for my issue (or curse as Dawn calls it  )

Cheers!

I'm glad you made this point Ed. I should have known better, but I hate to admit that I was beginning to think the delay was on your end. Apologies for even thinking it.
