We will put a good word in for Roy too.

I worked for an opthamologist for a few years. Cataract surgery is so fast now, usually under 15 min, the glacoma depends on what procedure they are doing. The longest part is the waiting room and the prep.

Will be praying for Roy. I've known I have Glaucoma since I was 18 (now 62), and my left eye seems to be getting weak(field of vision has narrowed). May have to do something soon too.

Guys and Gals, thanks for the well wishes, I know that Cataract surgery now a days is fast and I have to have it but I also have glacoma and have lost about 70% of my peripheral vision so if they just remove the cataracts they are concerned that the pressures would go back up and I would lose my center vision also in that eye (in other words lose my sight in that eye) so they are going to insert a metal tube under a flap to keep it drained, the way I understand it.
And a special thanks to my friend Gerry for posting this, but he's a week off, I go in for surgery next monday the 28th which gives me a whole week to be nervous:D.The good thing is the Doc said I would see better than I have in years the bad is now I'll be able to see all the mistakes I made on my pen turning:D;).

thoughts and prayers buddy! you are right, they can do marvelous things with the lasers and such nowadays. we will trust in your doctors hands.

Roy you will see better once the cloudy lens is replaced. Colors will be better too. I didnt work with our glacoma specialist much but I have seen that procedure and the patients I saw it on it worked well. They were all very happy.

Best of luck and let us know when your out.

Hey Roy, rather than a week of worry, why not sit back and soak up all the attention and prayers. Many of us had an edge because of your sight, now we are doomed to never catch up with you!

Have a stress free week and a fabulous procedure next Monday.

Fingers crossed, Roy...I have every confidence it will be fine and you'll be seeing better than ever - Doctors, today, are excellent at what they do!

(There's my attempts at some brownie points, Doc, even though your area is far from Opthalmologic Surgery) :D:D

What's a week amongst friends?????????;)

Your email said "next Monday" and you sent it Friday, therefore, the "next" Monday is tomorrow. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.:D

Roy, DocStram said I should give you a second opinion. After careful thought and serious reflection here is is:

Just in case, can I have first dibs on your new camera?? :D[}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)];)

Geesh, with friends like both of you it brings tears to my old eyes.
Thanks Al for recommending a second opinion from Cav and Cav your kind offer to have first dibs on my new camera tugged on my heart.
So I got to thinking would Cav know how to use some thing that had more than one button so I've instructed my estate manager (when you own more than one car you have to have an estate manager) to make sure you have first dibs on my old Kodak box camera just in "CASE". It only has the one red button.[}:)];).

Good luck with the surgery. And, no need to be nervous about it, like you said the doctor said you'd be seeing better than you have in years. If anything, you need to be nervous about all the sanding lines you'll be noticing when you get back to it. I'll be praying for all to go great.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

I should have known you had a comeback ready, Roy!! As my old boss from Alabama would say "Good 'un, Roy!"

Seriously, my friend, my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Good luck on your surgery Roy! I'm sure everything will be fine. Please don't go back and look at my pens when your eyes get better. Let's just leave all the nice things you have said about them alone.:D

All the best Roy!! I am quite sure everything will work out and you will be seeing much better. Just in case though, I will send a prayer your way :)
