My mentor said, you want something to test your skills. I said sure! He gave me a corn cob and said. Have at it!

4 months pen turning and I think I'm okay lol.

I used Miniwax wood hardner and let it sit until it soaked up the hardner. Then left it to dry for a while.

But noticed it left the cob soft regardless. I'm just glad it turned, but I turned it in a very low speed.
