Yes, the president will be here.
Traffic will be a mess in our "city" of 60,000.
He will be in "Festival Hall"-- a really nice little building RIGHT ON Lake Michigan. I don't think it will allow more than a thousand or so people. So, there should be LOTS of folks milling around. In short, I will be avoiding "Downtown" and the Lake front (2 blocks from downtown)..
But, yes, this visit is completely political---we have an election coming and our governor (retiring democrat) and our senator (Russ Feingold) are both in serious jeopardy of losing their seats. It will be interesting to see if they GAIN or LOSE more points as a result of the visit.
Only thing that is certain, President Obama WILL raise money for them.
Meanwhile our local police force will be working overtime to keep the traffic moving!!! And, I'll watch him tonight on TV.
Update: Both sides of the "route" (at least three miles) are lined with "folks waiting" two hours ahead of time. Must all be unemployed.
