Ok In November I joined my first real life turners club I am so excited and they said they meet up every 2nd Thursday of the month. I am so bad at those things and trying to remember.

I took out my new 2010 calender and marked off every 2nd Thursday for the whole year. Well December got all messed up with a little bit of snow and the closed the school. I was so excited all week I was even brave enough to bring something small that I turned to toss into the show and tell. Well the meeting was moved to Wednesday!!!!! That was yes Yesterday! I missed a second month!!!! :crying:

IAP I WOULD BE SO LOST TONIGHT BUT YOU ALL ARE HERE AND I DON'T HAVE TO REMEMBER WHAT DAY OR CHECK DETAILS DAILY TO MAKE SURE I DON NOT MISS YOU! THANKS FOR BEING HERE!!!!

Hey Karin,

Go take out a piece of wood and turn a pen!! Resin takes too much patience--with wood, you can just "whip out a pen". If it looks good when you are done, apply finish.

If it still looks good, add hardware and put in pocket or purse. Sense of "I made somthin pritty" will stay with you for hours.

Stop back when the glue is drying, we'll still be here!

Karin -- keep trying. The local clubs are a great resource, and a fun social gathering as well. You'll have access to all kinds of turners and experience, the club library, demonstrations, and so much more. Keep us posted with the February meeting!

Hi Karen,

Don't Worry, Be Happy, to steal a well known phrase. I missed my first 3 meetings due to work conflicts, and I thought for sure I was going to make last month's meeting, but really bad weather kept me from getting back home in time from Spokane.

In spite of that and the withdrawals, the meetings I've made have been invaluable in information and in new friendships. Don't sweat missing a meeting that got changed and not published for the members (sheesh!) You'll make your next meeting and be hooked so bad, you'll never miss another one by forgetting I bet! *smiles*

If you do, we are always here to lend you plenty of sympathy and maybe some good natured grief as well! *LOL*

Karin,
It may be a bit of a hike, but we are having a meeting this Sunday. You are very welcome to come by. You can even see Charlie and Alton again, (OH NO, I JUST SCARED HER OFF).

Jerry

Come on over this Sunday and I promise we won't change the date. If you want to come on Saturday, I will be driving up to MA then and camping out overnight. You are welcome to join us.
