Local News from our paper.... and they only get a fine for this...

GREENCASTLE, PA- An explosives manufacturer in Franklin County is facing a steep fine from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Officials with the company pleaded guilty to falsifying inventory records to cover the illegal sale of detonators and blasting agents.

Undercover agents with the ATF set up a deal to exchange cocaine for explosives.

After the purchase, ATF agents searched the facility's records and found entries covering up the missing explosives on a regular basis.

Similar violations were also discovered at Austin Powder sites in Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia.

The company is being fined more than $1 million for the crimes.

Your're right, only a fine?? How about a fine, jail time and loose your license to sell explosives. Oh wait, couldn't they also be charged with possesion of a narcotic since the ATF agent gave them cocaine for the explosives????

Ya, $1mil is a steep fine, but not anywhere near what it should be [:(!][:(!]

They are exchanging explosives for cocaine and they just got fined????

THAT IS WRONG!!! [:(!] They are nothing more than a high tech drug dealers and they also can potentially feed terrorists with explosives....$1 million is a slap in the wrist (or not even) for those people. I say death penalty (as much as I don't believe on it) is appropriate for this crime.

Was one of the head-honchos a cokehead? Where was the cocaine going? While it may be easier to sell than explosives???? I agree with Ryan-possession with intent to sell???

Lots of questions, not many obvious answers.[:0][:0]

As Paul harvey would say, "And now, the rest of the story"

The records were changed to cover the loss of the materials. The stolen materials were then traded for cocaine etc by the people who stole the explosives. The company did not trade the materials for drugs. They were guilty of trying to cover up a loss.

This must be a mistake... There are no longer any drugs in this world.
