Unique Triton fountain pen made with Natural Cotton, Cotton Seeds and Cotton Pods cast in Alumilite. Finished with C.A. and polished to perfection. Truly one of a kind!
Walnut and cherry segmented pen with aluminum flashing between segments on a caballero chrome kit. I really consider myself a beginer but this pen turned out so well and it didnt fir the beginners contest so I thought i would enter it.
An Emperor Kit with Desert Ironwood Burl. The cap finial button was replaced with a piece of Desert Ironwood Burl that was turned complement the blank. It was finished with CA/BLO, MM and then buffed with Tripoli & White Diamond.
Its a Palm Root in Resin Majestic 22k Gold and Rhodium Fountain pen. The palm root has been dyed blue and cast in PR resin. I bought the blank from George's bit of timber. Very tricky to turn and needed carbide tools
The pen is an Atrax FP in Gunmetal. Cap barrel is made from white turquoise tru-stone and the pen barrel is made from black jet/onyx tru-stone as well. The nib is a polished Bock fine point nib.
This is made from wormy/spalted/punky/voided maple wood. This took a LOT of CA to harden enough to drill out and round. The voids were then filled with dark wood dust. The kit is a bolt action tec pen.
This is a Baron rollerball pen. The wood is bleached black palm. I have made other black palm pens but this is the first one in which I tried bleaching. I love the black and white contrast and the simplicity and clean lines of the closed end pens. This may be my favorite pen. I have been making pens for about 1 year.
A rhodium and black titanium Jr. Emperor fountain pen in segmented woods. When pen is closed, the interior woods are both Hawaiian signature wood and the ends (exterior) are Honduran rosewood burl. The dividing metal is aluminum. The five metal dots are silver with African blackwood turned down to size to insert into the dots. The finish is about 10 coats of CA finished to a high gloss. Thanks for looking.
This is a Chrome/Black Ti Major wrapped in a blank sent by one of my pith partners. It is my first pen using "worthless wood," and makes me want to invest in the equipment to do it myself!
The Celtic Knight, A Knights Armor kit from Penn State Industries. A Herringbone 360 consisting of Redheart, Ebony, and Curly Maple. The Celtic Knot is four slices of .043 Crushed Pearl Acrylic in various colors. The pen has a CA finish.
Can't decide whether to call this "Snow Cone" or "Cone Dragon" because it looks like a dragon to me. (Back of pen shows the petals, but I could only submit 2 pics.) Jr. Gent pen kit. I dried the full-sized cone in a dehydrator, trimmed the sides back, and cast it in Alumilite with white dye. After turning & sanding, gave it a good wipe of BLO, then multiple coats of, first thin, then medium CA. MM to 12,000, Novus #2, & Ren Wax on metal parts.
Majestic fountain pen in Maple and Cherry curved segments for the top leaves of the flower and Oak and Ebony scallop segmenting on the bottom. Flower petals are hand carved and filled with a red quartz inlay with aluminium accents.
I finally made a pen for myself. It has a Jr Statesman Roller Ball Rhodium & 22KT gold kit. I stabilized buckeye burl blanks and segmented them with white Acrylic Acetate, Aluminum and carbon fiber. The barrels were sanded through 12k then dyed. Finish is 20 coats of Mercury CA.
I call this the Ebony & Ivory 57 Chevy. It is a closed end Chrome Sedona Rollerball with an (Alternate) Ivory cap and an Ebony body with an sweeping graceful tailfin.
This is a bog mammoth ivory (with discoloration, spalting and a lot of checks) vacuum cast in a black resin with a hint of pearl pigment on Majestic Junior Fountain pen with Heritance nib. One of the most nerve-wrecking pens I've made.
This is a Jr Gent 1 Fountain Pen Kit made with a navy blue and light green acrylic blank... AKA Seattle Seahawks colors!! I made the pen during the Super Bowl weekend. The blank was sanded through 600 grit then wet sanded with Pacific Northwest rainwater through MM 12,000. I don't expect many votes because of the Seahawks theme. Everyone in the country (and in our family) seemed to be for Denver... I thought of sending the pen around to all of our family members to sign the checks for the money they owed us after losing but decided against it. However, you can't say too many things about a team that defeats its opponent 43-8!! Go Hawks!!!
