Hello everyone

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with the Turners Workshop in the UK. I ordered a bunch of blanks from them back on May 19th. Supposedly they shipped on May 22nd. When my order shipped, they did not provider any tracking information. I emailed them on June 6th, and received a response on the 7th they would look into it ASAP. I've been to the UK enough to know that ASAP isn't necessarily the same as it is here, but as of this morning, I still haven't received any tracking information. I logged in to my account on their site to see if tracking was available, but it's not showing my order information.

I've sent another email and a note on FB this morning. I was just curious if anyone here had any experience with them.

thanks!

Specifically no, but Royal Mail was hit by a Russian linked ransomware attack earlier this year. I know they've been buggered for months It's possible that it's snarled up in there still.

I wondered about that - very well could be. I'd just like the tracking number to see if it's traceable. Presumably they got that when it was shipped - it just wasn't provided on the shipping confirmation email.

Years ago I ordered some blanks from them and don't remember any issues. It was cheap mail so no tracking. It has been 3 weeks to the day since you ordered and you have to account for time zone delays so they would have started picking the order the next day and there would be some time to account for if they had to take it to the post office etc. I don't think it has been too long to be concerned yet. The package could very well be sitting in US Customs until they get around to releasing it to the post office mule teams to pull across the country.

Well, my shipping wasn't cheap and supposedly there is supposed to be tracking. I'm not in a hurry to get them, I'd just like to know where they are and the lack of response is the concerning part. I'd feel better with a "sod off, they'll get there when they get there."

I haven't ordered from them yet. I was planning on a big order in a couple of weeks, so I am hoping you have a good end result. But Vince has been very responsive when I contact him on their Facebook account with questions. Etsy as well. It might be worth trying.

I'll keep this thread posted. I sent Vince a note on FB today so I'll see if that gets a quicker response with email. I figure if I complain about it enough they'll probably arrive in my mailbox today 🤠

I think Vince was at a pen show this past weekend so, between prep and actually being at the show, that might explain a bit of the lack of responsiveness. I've placed larger orders with him a few times and Vince has always been a reliable source so I wouldn't get worried just yet.

I have also found that oddly shaped packages take a bit longer for some reason (perhaps sorting machines can't handle them as well?). I was ordering full 30" rods so that might not be an issue for you.

I heard back from him today. Looks like my shipment should arrive on Friday. I ordered shorter blanks, so my guess is things were just sitting in customs for a bit.

I ordered an item from the UK with tracking. It is now 2 years later and according to the USPS it is in the El Paso, TX facility. They can't find it and have been less than helpful and very unresponsive. Hope you have better luck.
