Sitting here at work got me to thinking about simple, but difficult things in someones life. Things that you do on a normal basis that just irritate the crud out of you.

I am the first one to work every shift. On the day shift (starts at 4:30 am) I make coffee. I only drink 2 cups and on the day shift only. I have found that I can ruin a perfectly good morning trying to seperate coffee filters. It just gets me mad everytime. This only gets worse with the winter coming on. The drier my skin gets the harder it is. Anyone else have these simple things that just turn in something difficult?

Lick your thumb and index finger, you can separate the filters easier. If that's to unsanitary, wet them with water (your fingers that is).

That will work as long as cowchaser doesn't use the hand that he catches the cow by the tail with! [:D]

I gave up on that long ago, and bought a metal mesh basket to hold the coffee. Works great, infinitely reusable, and no more paper. Don't remember where I bought it, but anyplace that sells kitchen gadgets should have it.

I set up the coffee the night before, because I cannot function sufficiently to operate a coffee machine until I've had my first cup of coffee - bit ironic, really....

Try getting it all ready the night before, when you're less irritable, and then just plug 'er in in the morning.
