Has anyone been to The Lost Sea in Sweetwater, TN? I thinking about taking my dad there for Father's Day. It's looks like it might be fun from what I've seen on the website and he likes that kind of thing. There's also a crafty area with a general store, blacksmith, glass blowing, etc, how is this part? It's about a 2-hr drive so I want to make sure it's worth it. Thanks for any input!

I went there when I was 12. I'm 40 now and I still remember it as one of the neatest places I have ever been. If he is interested in that kind of thing, he would probably love it. It really is a unique experience. It's one of those places that really makes you realize how amazing nature is.

I've been there. As a former sport caver I was less impressed by the cave as I was by the history. If you are near McMinnville you can visit Cumberland Caverns

I.ve been to one of thier annual Christmas parties and the place is spectacular.
Cathedral Caverns is another must see in Alabama

I've been there twice and saw in in a B movie a long time ago and it will impress you quite a bit.
Even Raccoon Mtn Caverns near Chattanooga is a pretty good tour.

I've been on the wild tour there, lots of fun!

Also Desoto Caverns. It is this side of Birmingham Seems like it is around Leeds, but not sure. Went there a couple years ago. It was pretty good. Did Lost Sea about 20 years ago. It was good, but not great. Cumberland Caverns is good as well. There is also a small cave in Cave Springs. Nice little town. Picnic area and the cave.

I went years ago and I remember it being really cool... but like Warren, I was probably 10 or so and anything is cool when you're that age!

Hey Dave,
I live just down the road from the Lost Sea.. about 25 miles or so... have for the last 5 1/2 years and haven't been there myself yet, but my step son was there earlier this year and plans to go back next time he's here and can... it's a little pricey, but he said it was a really neat place.

We took the kids there about 10 years ago and it was neat (the history and stories) and was worth it, but I don't think I'll go there again. Too many other things in this great country I haven't seen yet.
