I'm a high school band director and last night we had our first football game of the year (American style football for the folks across the pond). Our son is a sophomore at my school and made varsity this year (outside linebacker/defensive end and backup tailback). He came in the game for the first time on offense and caught a screen for a 45 yard touchdown on his first play! I was trying to conduct the fight song and cheer madly at the same time! I did better cheering than directing!
I won't bother everyone with boorish updates during the season, but I had to tell someone about the first one.
PS Alas, the good guys went on to get a good old-fashioned behind kickin' and lost by 34 points. But #25 sure looked good!
