Yup it's coming faster than you think----lows are already getting down near freezing.
I know this is cheating but it's a lot more fun than spending days in the woods cutting and splitting------

Isn't that sad about us wood turners? I was at a friends house the other day, secretly eyeing his firewood stash for anything I might want to steal and turn.

We just spent a half hour surfing the pile-----trust me----we get the goodies out.

PS----I always wait till after my IAP friends have stopped by before this gets delievered.
It gets cold here ---remember this is firewood

Lol. I was going to say Gary has a major problem/addiction if he orders all that wood to find a few blanks. Time for an intervention. Lol.

Yep, just a few weeks ago I was smoking a brisket and went to get some mesquite chunks. On the way to the patio I looked more closely at one piece and thought... what a nice pattern for a bottle stopper!

In the good ole days the only decision was to use a mesquite log for firewood or smoking, now I look at a log and wonder if it would be better served as a few bowl blanks or bottle stopper blanks or pen blanks rather than plain ole smoking blanks! Pen turning has complicated my otherwise peaceful life! :frown:
