It did come from the "Southern Cross Ranch" in Texas where & when they were filming the big TV series or soap opera "Dallas". My oldest sister had been the head horse trainer on the ranch at the time when they were doing the TV show. The Ranch foreman had caused her show horse to suffer some injury so she had quit her job as head horse trainer and gave her notice by punching out the foreman. While cleaning out her belongings and leaving the ranch, she had picked up this post of Bodark to bring to me in Colorado. She knew that Id like it coming from that ranch and that we don't have that kind of wood around here. This was sometime in the early 1980s. Possibly around 81 to 83. So it does have some worth to any of y'all out thare that liked that TV show Dallas. And who was it that shot JR any who?
This piece of wood has been laying around out in the back shop forgotten about until last spring when I found it and decided to try to turn a pen out of it. I had thought that it was some of that Desert Iron Wood at the time. But I'm still just beginning to learn this stuff and I'm just glad to find out just what it is and where it came from, for sure, after all.
Anybody interested in a piece of the TV show "Dallas"? ;-)
