I'm sure the moderators will chew me out for posting this here but I can take the heat. These trimmer issues for Daniel's group buy have been the biggest headache I have ever seen on a group buy. To top it off, Daniel came out of pocket to send everyone replacement heads to make up for the bad ones. I realize that he said he will make it up with the extras he can sell - but as all of you know, this is a lot of time and trouble. So, I propose that all who benefited from Daniel's kindness get together and send some money to Eugene or Karl or PR_Princess or all three and buy Daniel some of their outstanding blanks for his trouble. I'm not trying to leave anyone out by the way, those vendors just come to mind.

As a disclaimer - I don't even know Daniel - I've just benefitted from his group buys and his kindness and honesty.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Syd,
Your way to kind. But I really appreciate it. I want to take a second and give everyone some insight to my motivation with group buys and integrity of them. First I have worked hard for years to make group buys a workable trust able system. there where those that came before me but group buys never really took off until this group came along. second the single biggest issue for any group buy is trust. trust from the participants int he organizer. trust in the organizer in the participants, and finally everyone has to have some level of trust in the supplier. this is not just a little trust either. try to list even one other place on the net you would pay your money first believing your goods will get delivered. this is the only one I know of. it is this practice of trust between us that goes a long way toward creating the atmosphere in this group. the standard this group upholds of honesty, integrity, true friendship, really taking care of our own at least to some extent. I see the results of group buys and the interaction that happens in them move through this group in a wave. the fastest way to get ignored here is to show nearly any sign of low morals. I really believe that if group buys fell apart. that community spirit would begin to degrade. I benefit greatly from this spirit of not only fairness but of giving in this group. very few people actually asked for there heads to be replaced. all said man you have done enough just forget it I'll order more later or live with the loss. everyone in this group is like that, not just one or two people but everyone. if you don't come here like that you will be like that in short order. or you won't stay here. It has now grown until we will actually really help or fellow members. not just send notes of kind words. but put together fund drives and send them something that really lightens the load in there life. I have found myself struggling lately to choose just the right word when telling people about this place. to call it a group almost feels like an insult. it is a community, on a scale that I would not believe it could be done on the internet if it where not seeing it for myself. That alone is more than enough to have done anything I have done. You are all my friends, and I have done nothing more than treat you like it. I ask that if you want to send anything in appreciation, send it to Jeff. He carries the real burden around here.
thanks for listening to my blubbering.

I emailed Daniel privately to suggest that he take some time to sand his walnut burl that is for sale in the Individual Classified section, because the pictures do not do the wood justice. This is PREMIUM walnut - I know - because I participated in the group buy that resulted in some of this very same wood. So - if you benefited from a group buy of trimmers and want to help him - buy some of that astonishing wood - you will not be sorry!

Best,
Roger Garrett
