I go by Grover, I am 45, I shattered my back when I was 28. (if you want to hear the story just ask I don't mind telling how it happened) I have had 4 back operations so far. I just started make resin items, my favorite is working on the lathe. I just saw a fun one to make so I tried it and now it's pretty much all I make , I'll show picture of it ( #1 ) the wood had lots of cracks so I maded the cracks wider and bigger and added epoxy and it worked great. I've made bowls and other things ( #2 ) number 3 and 4 are burl of a maple tree. Any how got side tracked, it's hard for me to move or do any activities anymore, so when I saw something I could sit and not much movement I was excited to do some fun projects. I have lots of questions… But I'll save those for another page, thank you again for accepting me.

Welcome from Connecticut. Very nice work and that piece of maple burl is gorgeous!

I too turned to wood turning as a hobby for rehab and so far, so good. I hope that you will find it rewarding.

Thank you all…. In the acceptance letter it said if you have anyway to help others with techniques that will help improve their wood turning. Well I have a great one I've been doing for awhile. I used to go through a ton of sand paper. But I learned that after you buy it, grab some duct tape and line the back of it, it will now last 4x as long all you need to do is use a soft wire brush to clean it up, and you will be able to keep re-using over and over.
