I am always amazed at how wonderful the IAP members are. I don't think I've ever had a question that didn't end with members going out of their way to help me. My skills and pens would be nowhere without the tools that I have gained as a member here! Thank you everyone and thank you Jeff for all of your hard work. What a wonderful group to be apart of. It is so easy to forget the hours that Jeff puts in here. I am also so thankful for such active members who continue to show pens and other works of art that inspire me, and for those who ask questions that keep me learning. Thank you again. I know this is a little cheesy but hey, how lucky we all are! :)

I agree with you Johnathan,

The support I received here when I joined IAP two years ago has help to change the way I make pens, I easily would have given up on pen making if I had not discovered IAP and missed out on the pen makers who have inspired me here.

Cheers to those of you who are helpful and willing to share, that is what makes the growth here for all and not just one!

We are all lucky to have found this forum [:)]...as far as I am concerned, this is the best!

Like Johnathan said, it is a collective effort and thanks to everyone!!!

I'm part of several forums, but this one is my home. People have prayed for me, taught me and supported me in my endeavors here. Maybe it does sound cheesy, but we're a family. Our DNA link is pen turning. NOTE: I'm really not much of a science guy, but that sounded like what I feel. I can't count the number of people who have helped me through tough situations, not limited to just pen turning.

You, as a group and as individuals inspire me. Thanks for sharing your feelings Johnathan.
Rob

BTW, let's not forget to support this forum financially too. I know lots of you have given, which speaks volumes about the folks here. To you I also say thank you.[:D]

'Ya know, why is it when I have a thought, in this case to write a note of thanks to you guys, I tend to push that thought away because it, as BigRob wrote, it "sounds cheesy"? And then BAMMMMM, someone starts a thread about it!

After 2 organ transplants, enough meds to stock a Walgreens, and over a year on disability, I was in the midst of depression. I wasn't going out, wasn't responding to gig calls (I'm a bassist), ... just not being social (or pleasant)[V]. In fact, my doctors would call every couple of days to make sure I wasn't "thinking bad thoughts".

However, since early February, when I found this site "by accident" I've been getting better[:D]. I sold some ham radio equipment and used the money to buy the Jet Mini, a drill press, tools and everything else I felt I needed and a few things I didn't. Thanks to ALL of you I'm off the antidepressants, out meeting (and selling to) people, planning to sell at some shows, putting up a website...... things that would have been way out of MY realm of possibility just 6 months ago. I know talk like this may put some people off but I believe that God had a plan for me all along. So I'm putting my stake in the ground and holding tight.

Thanks IAP

Joe

I feel the same way as everyone else here. When I first found this site, I didn't even know I needed to trim the wood right to the tube! The only instructions I had never mentioned it. When I look at the stuff I did then, it just looks like junk: lousy fit and finish. I was completely blown away by what I saw here and still am every day.

BTW, Joe, it appears we have the makings of a musical group. Anthony is a drummer, you're a bassist, I play trumpet and flugelhorn. All we need are a saxophone and either a piano or guitar and we could have a be-bop quintet for next year's rendezvous in Provo! [:p]

cheezy or not, it is true. this is the greatest group of people I know. thank you all for making this group what it is. From marriages, to the birth of children and grandchildren, to death and ilnesses. those in this group have shared it all at one time or anouther. It makes it much more than a place to post anouther picture of a pen. It puts the personality behind the work. thanks for sharing not only your work, your progress and your knowledge. but also for sharing yourselves.
