I just wanted to thank Rick for taking the time to stop by while in Sioux Falls.
Rick had business in town and stopped at my house one evening last week. I learned a ton in the few hours that we spent.
I had a lot of questions that Rick encouraged me to ask about. We talked about everything from techniques to marketing.
I finally saw my first puzzle pen on a gold baron and quite a few other beautiful pens. Rick had some really nice pens that I was able to check out. Very nice stuff!!!
Rick has a great attitude and it was just fun to meet him. Rick also gave me some stabilized blanks -mango, spalted oak and zebra wood and some "mystery blanks" from his personal "find". I wanted to post a picture of a Cool Pen from his gift but things have been kind of off track lately. My wife ended up in the hospital the next day and is still there now. This is her third time since Nov. She will be OK. They just need to monitor a few things right now and she should be home soon. I just want to say, and if you know Rick, you will know what I mean, that his visit was a ray of light.
Thanks again Rick!!! Let me know if you make it up this way again!

Doug

The pleasure was all mine. I gained as much from you as you may have gained from me.

I hope your wife is up and about now. She seems to be as interested in your woodturing as you are and provides a tremendous amount of support

I really enjoyed visiting as I find my travels cause me to be away form home way too often. Finding folks as yourself gives me an opportunity to meet new people and to learn new things.

Send pictures of whatever you make from the blanks.

Shelley should get out tomorrow and I am anxious to get back at it!
I'm looking forward to making some pens out of those nice blanks and I'll post something soon.
BTW.....I sold 4 more pens last week for a total of 9!!!
I wish every week was this good.
