these seem to get mentioned once or twice a year, only to fade into the mist again. I have never used one but know that others have. I am not sure what they are doing with them, if anything. maybe someone with some experience will chime in but it always falls into that category of "that was a great idea when I bought it" type tool.

I'm probably not going to get it, i'm actually in the planning stages of a rose engine lathe / ornamental lathe. These types of things just help me in figuring out how to make different parts, features etc. I'll probably post a build thread of the actual lathe construction. Just need some free time in engineering class to model it in Inventor.

A guy in our WWing club demonstrated the router crafter. Pretty nice idea. One can create things like spiral fluted table legs and all manner of neat shtuff! :D
If I could get one very cheaply, I'd make room in my shop for it. ;)

I'm not a fan of the design, looking at it, it looks like some parts are "cheasy" looking. I think i'm just going to make an attachment for my ot lathe instead. Plus looking at it, it looks like one end needs to be square to match the "headstock" of the mill.

Got something similar to the first mentioned article. Never used it but now that I have a smaller router I thnk I'll dust it off.
2nd item: love to have that! could set it up in the front garden and amuse the Neighbours!:D:D

Several guys in my club has one of the route lathes. I don't think they paid more than 25.00 for theirs. One of them turned a spiral pen on one but could only get about 1 1/4 turns out of it on the pen.
