At what temperature do you not cast?
Found out the hard way my shop was
too cold to cast this week. Today was fine
but the shop was 70* So where in the line?

I would think the cooler the temp the longer it would take to set up. I have cast in the
50's and it took 2 days to set up but it finally did. Humidity also factors in to cure time. I would be interested to here others experiences.

I was casting today and it was in the 20s. It took a little longer but the blanks are done and ready to go. You should really try Alumilite.

An obvious question is how much MEKP were you adding?

If you want data on how long it takes PR to gel (I don't record cure times)
look at my color library. Only problem there is that most of that data's from the other end
of the thermometer since I'm in AZ.

As the temp drops <70 (or when I'm in a hurry)
I start adding warmers - usually one or more of
my 500W Halogen lights. Just don't get them too close to the mold.
Cutting board material will warp long before it melts. (DAMHIKT) Pill
bottles just melt.

I have 4 gallons of alumilite in the garage waiting for me to start
casting with it. Once I do there will be data on it as well. (color recipes too)

When it is cold in my garage in the winter, I just put the pressure pot on a heated floor mat. The mat is never too hot to stand on, and the pot stays around 90F no matter how cold it is outside.

When it is cold (and Texas fluctuates A LOT) I :

1.) warm my molds in the shop dedicated toaster oven

2.) pour my catalyzed resins and put the molds into the pot

3.) charge with appropriate pressure then close the line

4.) disconnect the hose and bring the pressurized canister inside
