It seems that I modify my techniques slightly as they evolve. One thing I have stopped doing is gluing the tube in the blank before I laser engrave it. I drill it a few mm long, slide the tube and bushings in without gluing, and turn it to size. I then engrave it. If it looks good, I'll glue the tube and let it cure. If it is less than stellar, removing the tube and engraving another blank is simple. It's less time-consuming than turning the blank off of the tube.
