I am trying to hook up my Xbox 360 to another 360. According to one site i read, you need an RJ45 cable. I have a "Cat5" cable, and think that is a type of RJ45? I use dialup ISP, so i have no idea about these high speed cables.thanks in advance!

Yep.. That should be right on.

RJ45 is the specification (8 pin ends... etc)
Cat5 specifies the level of shielding (in general).

For all practical purposes Network cables are called by either term. You should be all set.

you may need a cross over cable. Some stuff doesn't auto-negotiate so you have to hardwire it. A cross over cable switches the wires @ 1 and 2 with 3 and 6 normally green and orange.

I thought that too at first, but the xb360 is smarter than that. It auto senses and can use regular or crossover cables.

I called a MAJOR software firm's tech support last year. The guys there had never heard of a NIC auto-configuring a straight cable to cross-over mode. I was like, what rock have you been living under?
