My Japanese mother-in-law makes some great pickled smelly daikon....but somehow I doubt it would be the same as a good sour Gherkin. Maybe a big slab of still quivering sashimi would work.

John, it's really wierd.......
i've never heard of this until 3 weeks ago. a girl at work brought the exact same thing in and i tried it......pretty darn tasty!
and now you post the same thing.......such a small world...eh?

John that sounds good. I make something you might like as well. Take a slice of some hard salami and spread some creme cheese on it and put some peperoncini peppers on then roll them up. They are not hot and are sooo good.

John , mix a little Lea & Perins Worcestershire sauce in with that cream cheese . This has been a good Super Bowl snack for years . It's GOOOOD !!

These look pretty good, John!

Maybe you ought to stick a pen refill in it, and enter it in the Ugly Pen contest (coming in February!). ;-)

Scott.

Hey,
Thanks for all the new ideas guys! I'll have to try some of the
other things mentioned. You all are going to make me fatter.
That pickle pen was darn funny, btw. A classic.
Cav..the pickle roll ups take the little known 9.74mm "Vlasic classic" refill,
available from Dill-man sales on the corner of Vine & Gar.
(the Parker is too short and the twist mech. is all wrong.)
