Hello everyone,

This a commissioned pen.
The technique is called Tamenuri. On last colored layer, translucent Urushi is added. Some areas are painted or sanded in order to let the red layer visible. This pen took 3 months to finish.
Nice day,
Teo

Beautiful! I really appreciate the effort to allow the red areas to show through - this was a superb decision.

Thank you for sharing.

Great pen Téo! I am again particularly impressed by the threads... How can you sand in there without taking everything off???

That's again creazy stuff but, I had to repeat several time to get it wright. Also I'm using Japanese Urushi (not Chinese) that requires more strict conditions for curing but also is way much harder than Chinese. I do all my threads by hand with tap and die and I can manually adjust the depth.

Teo your the man you leave me speechless. If I could dedicate 3 months to make a Pen I know it would not compete with yours. May I ask are you married.
Keep it up always a pleasure to see your work.

:) Thanks, it just needs patience and carefulness. Yep I'm married.
