I am taking a few days off from the IAP Forum. Tomorrow morning at 10AM I go under the knife for a fusion of L4/L5 in my lower back. I will be in the hospital until Saturday afternoon, so you guys and gals take care of the place and I will talk with you when I get back.

O Lord,
In this time of need, strengthen me. You are my strength and my shield; You are my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. I know, Father, that Your eyes go to and fro throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts long for You. The body grows weary, but my hope is in You to renew my strength.
I do not fear, for You are with me.
I am not dismayed or overwhelmed, for You are my God. I know You will strengthen me and help me; that You will uphold me with Your righteous hand. Even as the shadows of illness cover me, I feel the comfort of Your strength, Or Lord.
Amen.

Take it easy and relax. Remember to take pain meds as needed so that your body can heal more easily. Lots of energy and healing in your direction.

If they put the pins in like they did for my wife you will be up and about in no time. She actually crawled out of the bed the night of the surgery because she couldn't figure out how to work the call button built into the bed when she had to go to the bathroom. Only problem was an infection in the incision. Will be praying for you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I had the same surgery to fuse my L4/L5 with two titanium rods and four nice long titanium screws. That was almost 6 years ago. Went thru therapy and was able to get back to the work that I love within 6 months.
Here's to a speedy recovery.
